First Foam Dart Launcher (Nerf Gun) Sale

In my previous post I mentioned that I printed my first Nerf gun! I ended up posting it on Etsy and immediately got an order for four of them. I wanted to mention the modification I made to it that made it work way better. The original design used a piece of left over filament as a spring mechanism for the trigger. I found that this didn't work very well. Instead I printed a plastic spring and inserted into the slot. It worked really well, better then I would of expected. The next modification I need to make is to add a rod to hold the nerf dart in place. As is the dart will fall out of the barrel too easily. You can order one yourself if your interested here .

Printing my first nerf gun!

My first printed nerf gun! Ever since I purchased my 3D printer in the summer I've been wanting to print a nerf gun. I've seen many designs on thingiverse but none seemed right for me. Last night I decided to try this one: Foam Dart Pistol It was slightly to big for my 120x120x120 mm bed so I scaled it down to 90%. It printed last night. My first thoughts are... this is cool, but I plan to tweak it. First off the barrel is too big, the nerf dart isn't held snuggly. To remedy that I'm going to add a rod like most nerf guns have that will hold the dart. Second it doesn't have the tactical rail. It would be nice to be compatible with the existing nerf accessories. I'll add that next. Third the way the trigger springs back didn't work well for me. Instead I printed my own spring which works much better. Here are some pictures of it

Nerf Mods!

Are you looking for a gift for a nerf lover? Well consider the following items. The first is a custom made dart holder that fits onto the tactical rail of all nerf guns. This is a great way to carry extra ammo. Typically use this for nerf guns that require manual loading and don't take a magazine. If instead your gun uses a magazine consider the "fast loader." This nifty invention allows you to quickly insert the darts into the magazine by sliding the entire cartridge into the magazine then pulling out the cartridge while leaving the darts into the new fully loaded magazine. You can pick up one or both at my etsy store. See Dart holder on Etsy See Fast Loader on Etsy

New Hotrod Pickup truck.

This is my second post! My boys (6 and 8 yrs old) and I started this shop over the summer. We were having fun with my new 3D printer and enjoy making things for others kids, and the young at heart to enjoy. We hope by starting the blog we can tell a bit more about what were making, how we did it, and have any more fun with our hobby. Our latest print is a Hotrod pickup truck. This print was tricky as cab and tires need support to print properly. The sports then need to be pulled for a good fit. After a few tries looks like we got a good print. Take a look at it in our etsy store: http://etsy.me/2jujS2c and leave comments if you have any questions. Thanks!
